Norman RAMSAY 1869 - 1916


1.  Norman RAMSAY, born 1869 in Queensland, Australia, educated in England at Harrow. He resided for much of his life in Oondooroo, Queensland, Australia. He returned to England in 1913, and at the outbreak of war he enlisted in the "Sportsman's Battallion". He was awarded his commission in 1915 and went to the Front in March 1916. Second Lieutenant - 16th Btn. Rifle Brigade. He died 3rd Sep 1916 Killed in Action - Aged 47, Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial (Pier and Face 16 B and 16 C).
