This man is recorded on the Medal Index Cards under WO 372/7, but is NOT recorded as a war casualty by the CWGC or ODGW.
It therefore seems probable that he is in fact another example of a local man who died of wounds or disease after being discharged from the service - Captain (Acting Major) John Kennedy GAUNT. Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC).
